GAMALAMA

Recorded by D. Miller, 2007

ASPMC.2007.01

Habitat: Land dwelling, grasslands of the Southwestern US

Omivore: It is unknown what these creatures eat in the wild but when domesticated, they prefer strawberries and Diet Coke

Attributes: Curious, lazy, compact and good at getting into tight places

Endangered Status: Difficult to gauge actual populations in the wild but based on the number of times they’ve been reported in people’s kitchens, spare rooms and sheds, we believe the population to be healthy.

It's rare to see this shy creature in its natural habitat. Luckily, The Southwestern Gamalama has a fascination with human buildings. Most documentation of gamalamas comes from reports of them being discovered in offices, summer cabins, laundry rooms or garages. They are intelligent, cunning animals and their compact physique allows them to get into tight places- though they can’t always get out of them. Many people, both magical and unwitting unmagical people (who think they’re feral cats) have befriend gamalamas with gifts and food due to the fact that they are not much inclined to hunt or forage for themselves. This is often a problem for nonmagical people as the gamalama emits a scent that causes the brain to become foggy. This is easily overcome by a clarity spell but obviously devastating for those with no spell-casting abilities.

If you happen to offend a gamalama, you shouldn't be surprised to discover plumbing mishaps or other unfortunate domestic happenings. They have a strange sense of humor.
